Before you land

Lanzarote
essentials.

The things everyone Googles before they go — answered by people who live here.

Best time to visit

Lanzarote is a year-round destination. March–May and September–November are ideal — warm but not scorching, quieter, and cheaper. July–August is peak season and hot. December–February is mild and empty.

Getting around

A rental car is strongly recommended — public transport is limited and taxis are expensive for island exploration. Most rental cars are manual; book automatics in advance. Petrol is cheaper than mainland Spain.

Money & tipping

Cash is still king in local restaurants and markets. Card accepted most places. Tipping 5–10% at restaurants is appreciated but not expected. Taxis: round up. Markets: no tipping expected.

Data & connectivity

EU roaming rules apply for European visitors — your plan works as home. US/UK visitors should get a local SIM or use an eSIM. Vidodo Guide works fully offline once downloaded, so connectivity isn't an issue for exploring.

Updated every single day

The island is always doing something. We'll make sure you know.

Lanzarote has markets, concerts, cultural events, and pop-up experiences happening constantly — most visitors never hear about them. Vidodo's discover feed is updated daily so you never miss a thing worth going to.

Daily Events

Live

Live calendar of what's happening island-wide — from the famous Sunday market in Teguise to sunset concerts on the coast.

Restaurants

Curated dining picks from traditional Canarian kitchens to creative local chefs. Sorted by area, occasion, and vibe — not just rating.

Beaches & Coves

Beyond the hotel strip. Hidden coves, black sand beaches, natural rock pools — with practical info on how to get there and when to go.

Local Shops

Artisan workshops, local producers, and independent stores that actually represent the island — not the souvenir strip by the port.

Must-See Spots

The viewpoints, landmarks, and natural wonders not always in the guidebooks — including when to visit for the best experience.

Culture & Art

From César Manrique's legacy to living local artists, exhibitions, and cultural events that give the island its unique identity.

By Area

Wherever you're staying — north, south, Arrecife, Playa Blanca — filter everything by your location and what's nearby today.

Experiences

Stargazing spots, salt flats at sunrise, volcanic hiking, wine country roads — the kind of thing you only know about if you live here.

Everything updated daily. Because the island changes every day — your app should too.

A message from our founder

Why we built
Vidodo Guide.

Lanzarote is one of the most beautiful places in the world — and most visitors never actually see it. They sit on a bus, rush through the same route everyone else takes, and pay €75+ per person for the privilege.

Through the privilege of working closely with local guides and island experts who all carry over +40 years of experience, we were able to build something that genuinely reflects the real Lanzarote — GPS routes that starts automatically as you drive, a daily events feed, and recommendations that come from people who have spent their lives here, not an algorithm.

What it actually feels like

This is what a real
day in Lanzarote
looks like.

You wake up and check the app. There's a local market in Haria this morning - you'd have had no idea. You go. You find a ceramic studio you spend an hour in.

After lunch at a restaurant the app recommended — a spot the tourists on the strip never reach — you start the volcanic south route. The audio begins as you drive. Not a Wikipedia summary. A story. The kind only 40+ years of living this island can give you.

At 7pm the app reminds you about the sunset point. You're the only ones there. Someone takes a photo. Nobody asks you to move on. No bus is waiting.

That's the day we give you. Not a tour. Not an app. A version of Lanzarote you actually get to keep.

🌋

The volcanic south

Drive through lava fields older than any road. The audio tells you what it took to make wine grow here.

🛒

The Sunday market no one told you about

Teguise's famous artisan market — the app tells you when, where to park, and what not to miss inside.

🍽️

The restaurant worth the detour

Found through 40+ years of local knowledge, not an algorithm. The kind of place regulars don't share.

🌅

The sunset no one else finds

Local knowledge means knowing exactly where to be at 7:15pm. We'll get you there.
